The Performing Arts Center at Victor J. Andrew High
School is available to rent during the months of
September through May. The Performing Arts Center
is a proscenium theatre space with a house that can
accommodate 704 people, including nine spaces on the
main floor for patrons that require handicapped
accessibility. The balcony level accommodates 214
people (included in the total number of 704 seats).
The proscenium opening is 50' wide by 25' high and trim
height for the grand teaser is typically set at 18'.
There are 20 single purchase line-sets and all other
borders and electrics are trimmed accordingly. The
stage provides a playable depth of 32' with an
additional depth of 13' at the deepest portion of the
arched apron. The mid-traveler and the rear
traveler provide two additional opportunities for full
stage masking. The right wing has a usable width
of 10' and a depth of 25' and the left wing has a usable
width of 7' and a depth of 24'. Available wing
space is contingent upon other users of the facility and
Andrew High School events take priority spacing.
Any hung scenery or other objects must have prior
approval by the Auditorium Director before they can be
brought into the facility.
The Performing Arts Center has an array of lighting,
sound and projection equipment that may also be rented.
Please contact the
Auditorium Director
for a complete listing of available equipment and
operating consoles. Four onstage electrics are
typically available for use of specials and the pre-hung
plot is standard in the four-wall rental fee, as are
hanging locations along the balcony railing, box-booms
in the house (located near the proscenium opening) and
two catwalks above the seating area. Lighting
booms are also available on the stage itself.
Acoustical panels are available on both levels of the
house for added sound control. The spotlight booth
is located on the third floor and the tech booth
(lighting and sound) is located on the main level.
There are two dressing rooms located backstage and, at
certain times of the year, there is also limited storage
space for extended-run events. A ground-level
loading dock is available for extensive load-ins.
The stage is easily accessible via the loading dock.
Rentals are broken down by category, including District
230 sponsored groups, approved community groups,
not-for-profit groups and for-profit groups.
Interested parties must contact the
Auditorium Director for assistance in
determining their category and the associated fee
structure. |
